New in KPEYE
What shipped this month
The KPEYE Portal is live
Your KPEYE settings now live in one place your team controls directly — no support ticket, no waiting on us.
- Add users, and set which email addresses at each store receive the monthly report
- Toggle off required ASC events your vendor doesn’t support, so the report stops flagging what you can’t fix
- Adjust billing and run a report on demand, any time
Settings that used to mean a support ticket now take a minute. The most valuable one is the report distribution list — a report that lands with one person at the store gets read once; one that lands with the GM, the marketing manager and the fixed ops director gets acted on.

Log in to the portalGTM Decoder
We now decode every container on your site automatically, store by store. There is nothing to run — open your GTM Decoder sheet and the evidence is already there.
- Every Unknown container comes with hints pulled from the code we found inside it — usually enough to name the vendor yourself
- Confirm or correct the owner of any GTM container, GA4 property or Google Ads account in the portal — no more emailing ownership lists to Ryland
- Your corrections flow into next month’s report automatically
Unknown is the most expensive word in your GTM audit. A container you can’t identify is one you can’t safely remove, so it stays — adding load time and quietly sharing shopper data with a company that may not work for you any more. The Decoder turns each Unknown row into a decision you can actually make: keep it, or kill it.

KPEYE now estimates how many of your sessions come from headless browsers, and reports your conversion rates both ways.
- Form Completion Rate is shown raw and excluding bots, side by side, for the report period and the two months before it
- The 1-year FCR trend charts both lines, so you can see whether the gap between them is widening
- Genuine LLM agent traffic — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude — is not filtered out. It stays as its own channel.
Bots inflate sessions without adding conversions, so your FCR reads lower than the site is actually performing. You end up believing you have more traffic than you do, converting worse than it does — and every budget, staffing and vendor decision built on that number is wrong in the same direction. Check your own bot line this month; on some properties it is over 10%.

The report used to tell you how your site performs. A new block of pages tells you whether AI answer engines and local search can find you at all — covering SEO, AEO and GEO in one place.
- AI & Agent Readiness — grades the schema on your home page, SRP and VDP, and lists what’s missing
- AI Crawlability & Readiness — whether ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini can reach, read and quote your site
- AI / LLM Referral Traffic — sessions arriving from AI tools, which pages they land on, and what they converted
- Marketplace Leakage — the real local searches you win and lose, recorded by domain, against CARFAX, Cars.com, CarGurus and the rest
Every gap ships with an owner — website vendor, agency or dealer — and an effort level. That makes it a work order you can hand off, not a score you can only worry about. And leakage is measured from recorded search results, not modeled, so when a marketplace outranks you for your own dealership name you have the evidence in hand.

KPEYE Alerts
A weekly email flagging the most urgent item at each store. First priority is a conversion tool that stops sending ASC events into GA4 — trade, payments and credit. We won’t nag you about service events your vendors never sent in the first place. Custom settings will let you choose what else gets flagged.
Budget optimization export
A download that hands your media data over in a spreadsheet built to be pasted straight into Claude or another AI tool — tabs for Paid Search, Paid Social, Display, Paid Other and Traffic by Channel Group. Merge it with your store budgets and an underperforming campaign stops being a judgment call and becomes arithmetic. Until it reaches the portal, Ryland can build the file for you by hand — email ryland@kpeye.com.
FAQ Generator
Generates 20+ dealership-specific questions and answers with valid FAQPage JSON-LD, ready to drop onto your site. Your AI Crawlability page already tracks FAQ content and FAQPage markup as signals — this fills both in one pass.
Review page snapshot
A static, properly marked-up review page so AI answer engines can read and quote your ratings — and so you have a review page that looks the part. Worth knowing: Google hasn’t shown star rich results for a dealership’s own on-site reviews since 2019, so the win here is AI visibility, not stars in search.
Auto-publishing through your website platform
As website companies publish MCP endpoints, both the FAQ page and the review snapshot can be pushed live for you instead of copy-pasted — for customers who want that automated.
Put it to work
Find the tags nobody owns
A typical rooftop we audit is running 10+ analytics tags and 15+ GTM containers, most left behind by vendors who stopped working with the store years ago. Each one adds load time and hands your shopper data to a company you are no longer paying.
- Open the GTM Configuration Audit page of your latest report and sort by Owner.
- Flag every container marked Unknown — those are your candidates.
- Open your GTM Decoder sheet — it has already been run for your store — and read the code hints for each Unknown container. They usually name the vendor for you.
- Send whatever is still unidentified to your website provider and current agencies, and ask one question: is this yours?
- Anything nobody claims after two weeks comes off. Record the owners you did identify in the portal so next month’s report shows the change.
Mobile Lighthouse performance score. Since roughly two thirds of dealership traffic is mobile, that is the number that moves when the dead scripts come off.
Also worth doing
Win the search for your own name
Marketplaces rank on your dealership’s name using your own inventory. If CARFAX or Cars.com outranks you when someone types your store’s name, every other visibility project is premature — you are paying to send shoppers to a page that sells them somebody else’s car.
- Open Marketplace Leakage — Search Evidence and find your name searches. Anything marked lost is fix number one.
- Put your exact dealership name — the way customers type it — in your homepage title tag and H1. Owner: website vendor.
- Complete your Google Business Profile, and add sameAs links to your social profiles in the homepage schema. Owner: dealer + website vendor.
- Publish a real About page. AI answer engines need something specific to quote about who you are.
- Check next month’s report. Name searches should move before anything else does — they are the easiest battle you own.
The Your Name Searches grade on your Marketplace Leakage page. Winnable means your site is #1 and holds 3 or more of the top 5.
From our clients
What dealers are seeing
“With lead volume no longer showing the growth patterns we once saw, our goals have shifted to getting a higher number of leads from the website traffic we already have. That will require an improvement in our Form Completion Rate (FCR). From the beginning of this project it was clear that one of our biggest challenges was going to be collecting accurate data from all of the various CTAs that reside on our websites, and making certain that each vendor that supplied those CTAs was sending the required ASC event data to GA4. KPEYE has proven to be a fabulous solution to check for ASC compliance, calculate the CTA Conversion Rate (CCR) for each CTA button, and identify the other factors which impact FCR including page load times, paid media traffic quality, VDP page design, and merchandising compliance with new FTC guidelines. We are now using KPEYE data to optimize our marketing budgets since all agencies are being measured by the same standard.”
KPEYE tips
Quick wins you can run this week
Never change CTA text mid-month
Change button copy on the 1st, not the 14th. A mid-month change splits the data and makes CTA Conversion Rate impossible to compare against the prior period.
Ask every vendor for their Measurement ID
Any Analytics tag on your site you cannot trace to a named vendor is an open door to your shopper data. Collect the legitimate IDs once and everything left over is a removal candidate.
Turn on GA4’s bot exclusion
If your report shows elevated bot traffic, raw session counts are inflated — and budget, staffing and vendor decisions built on them are wrong. The toggle lives in GA4 Admin under data stream settings.
Read the AI Assistant row before you dismiss it
AI referral volume is small today, but on the properties we measure it converts several times better than paid social. Small and high-intent beats large and idle — watch the trend, not the count.
Fix mobile first
Roughly two thirds of dealership traffic is mobile, so a mobile Lighthouse score is worth more than a desktop one. Target 75+ mobile before you spend a dollar chasing desktop.
Track the phone calls your website generates
Without dynamic number insertion on your site, voice conversions never reach GA4 — and Google Ads optimizes your campaigns without them. Check your Sales Opportunities chart: voice bars near zero next to a tall form-and-chat bar usually means no DNI, not no calls. Ask Car Wars or CallRevu about adding their DNI package. Missing voice signals can waste hundreds of dollars in ad spend a month.
